Our Chase athlete Manfred Zöger took part in this 3-days-event at the croatian cost region close to Porec and used this opportunity for the finish of his MTB-season like many other mountain bikers.

At The first day, on Friday, a short but fast stage waited for the bikers. Due to the short distance of only 28 kilometers and the very flat track, it was a pulsating competition. The excitement among the cyclists could be felt and there were multiple offensives on the track. Finally, the bikers cycled an average velocity of 30 km per hour and the critical meters were in the final sprint. Manfred was part of the leading group and reached the sixth position. For the overall result, the next two days could still change everything.

The second day a 45 kilometers long course followed. Manfred was lucky that some cyclists in the leading group loosed their track. He finally finished as third biker. That helped him to be lifted up onto the second position after day two in the overall standings.

The marathon on the third day was a very exciting race. Manfred tried very hard and managed to stay with the leading group und headed onto the winner’s podium. The wheather conditions were not as good as on the first two days, it soon started to rain and after a while a powerful thunderbolt started.  That was not enough: Manfred was not lucky on that day. After a stony downhill he lost pressure in his rear wheel and had to stop to repair this harm. Thus, he finally arrived the daily finish after the first six cyclists and was thrown back onto the forth position in the overall standings.

All in all, it was a successful season closing of the MTB season. The turbulent race course showed once again that good and bad luck are very close to each other.

About 250 cyclists from nine different nations faced the challenge in the Bike Night Flachau. Due to a lot of rain and bad wheather conditions prior to the 7th edition of this event on 12th of August, a slippery track could be expected. To attain a fair and above all a secure competition the jury decided to shorten the course. The very heart of the track, the downhill through the Hermann-Maier-Weltcup-course, was only cycled in the first round. As a consequence, the race was even a closer competition between the first three bikers.

Felix Ritzinger wins the spectacle under floodlights in the ski resort Flachau! Partly, with times below 7 minutes per round and 300 starters on the track, dodging the other cyclists that he had overtaken and avoid collisions was the bigger challenge than the slippery and wet meadow. The leading position changed in nearly every round, but in the end after all 18 rounds Felix succeeded in the final sprint in the night and won with 2 hours and 8 minutes – after the disappointing results in previous competitions this was a very important victory for him!

Friday, the 14th of Juli, we headed off for a highlight in this season, the 24hours challenge in Kaindorf. We wanted to cycle in our team in relay as many rounds as possible in a track of 12,2 kilometers.

Above all teamspirit and a good experience was our goal. But additionally, we wanted to take advantage of this race to test our equipment. At 18pm our first cyclist, Lukas Winter, started enthusiastically in the first round. All together we managed to achieve short round durations and above all the leading position. This performance has only been possible thanks to the team’s work and all its members –  Lukas Steinbichler, Wolfgang Hoffmann, Gabriel Wahringer, Thomas Ofner, Peter Fröhlich, Lukas Winter und Felix Schneider.

All in all, we had a really good time. We were highly satisfied with the Chase rims and they could easily withstand the test of 24hours.

On Saturday evening the spectacular race lasting for 24hours on the 14th/15th of July is over.

After having cycled to the front position leading with four rounds and 878,4 cycled kilometers all in all, the race direction disputed our team one hour in advance to the finish. “Not all your cyclists work for Chase GmbH”.

This requirement hadn’t been expressed yet. Finally we were not allowed to cycle in the business rating, we then decided not to take over the podium stage in the 10-person team rating and resigned our position to the teams that worked hard for it and earn their podium stage. Fairness and team spirit are the priorities for Team Chase.

Nevertheless, the team’s performance was excellent, as we expect from Team RAA!  We managed to fulfill our own goals and expectations. We enjoyed the challenge a lot and had a really good time!

On the 17th of July in 2017, Manfred Zöger started at the traditional ASVÖ Austria Grand Prix in Windhaag bei Perg.

The spectacular circuit has developed to a classic, which demands highest concentration from every participant. Highlights of the track are the two very difficult keypoints ‘Höllenloch’ and ‘Ruinendownhill’.

Athlete Manfred Zöger started from second row and even managed to lead the race for a short period of time. He could not hold first position for a long time, but stayed in good position anyway. In the second round, a technical defect at the backwheel bothered him: the wheel had to be changed and Manfred lost precious time. For two rounds, the top-athlete had to sprint in order to reach the other riders. After some time, he catched them again.

Despite the hard setback and the other strong riders, he could place himself in the top-20 in the end.

Our Chase bottle surely helped him to achieve this top-performance. Its extremely low weight and high flexibility are also much appreciated by many other athletes. Especially in races the Chase bottles are being used more and more.

From June 15th to 18th, Kitzbühel invited to the ETU Triathlon European Championship. Top-athlete Tom Thalhammer took part in it.

Already in 2014 he finished in fourth place over the sprint-distance. This time, his goal was to overcome the olmypic distance.

At the first discipline, swimming, Tom placed third.

Equipped with the aerodynamic ChaseUp carbon-wheels he went into the cycling track, where the athlete could save himself the first place for a short amount of time.

During running the triathlete had some health problems and was forced to pause.

Despite the loss of time Tom Thalhammer finished in excellent 7th position.

The Wienerwald Cup is a very famous time trial racing series, which consists of five single races, all organized by Radclub Mödling.

It’s a perfect opportunity for everyone who loves cycling to demonstrate one’s skills.

The Wienerwald is especially favoured by bikers, because of its beauty and straightforwardness. The Roads are fairly diversified, apart from many plane sections you will also have to overbear several elevation gains.

The bikers started on April 28th at 6:30pm in Gainfarn.

The grand final took place on June 9th. This time the bikers had to drive 15km and overbear 450m elevation gains.

The time trial races have been the perfect opportunity to test our ChaseUP wheels for stability. We can gladly report that they have been a proven success!

On the 27th of May Bernhard Weis participated in the Linz triathlon and could fortunately improve his personal 1,9/90/21km distance record.

He had a great start in the swim, it only took him 30 minutes to achieve the first target.

His aerodynamic bicycle enabled him to drive 36km/h on average. In only 2 hours 35 minutes he could easily finish the 90km.

Probably the hardest part of the triathlon, the run, turned into an heated battle due to the hot temperatures the bikers had to cope with.

Therefore, their top-priority was to permanently keep an eye on their fluid and energy balance.

At the end of the day, special thanks to Lukas Steinbichlers and Philipp Gahs cheering, Bernard Weis reached the finish line in 05:04:46 h.

Last Friday, on January 20th, the drivers have been divided in 2 separate groups, a fast group and rather slower one.

Subsequently, the two groups started in a 30- respectively 60-round Snowballcompetition.

In this special race session the drivers sprint every 10th round for points.

The special feature of the Snowballcompetition is that every 10th round the amount of points continuously increases, which means you will get the most points in the 50th and 60th round.

The organizers of the Vienna Bahn-O-Rama are providing an event with a familial atmosphere, ambitious race characteristics and loads of enthuasiasm.

Even race-newbies will have fun.
