At the end of January Manfred set off by plane to the south. His destination was the Mediterranean island of Cyprus. There he spent 15 days under ideal external conditions. He used the time perfectly to complete extremely high quality and quantitative training sessions.

Starting point of his daily bike rides was Limassol. The location of the city on the south coast of the island offers all possibilities for training: from shallow basic units along the coast to various interval trainings in the mountainous interior, everything is possible.

Under almost perfect external conditions – during the day the temperatures were always in the range between 15° and 25° – Manfred completed about 60 hours of training in 15 days. Always with him were the Chase Up wheels. The training camp was another endurance test for the carbon rims. But they were completely unaffected by the more than 1,750 kilometres of training and about 20,000 metres of altitude difference and still run as on the first day!
