On December 8th and 9th the ARBÖ RC Pernitz organised two races within the ÖRV-ZMS-cross-country-cup 2018/19.

On saturday chase-teamrider Manfred proved that he is one of the best local crossers this season.
From the beginning he was at the top together with street professional Andi Hofer, from the half of the race on he took the lead alone and didn’t let it be taken anymore. He celebrated his 7th victory in the current cross-country season. Felix Ritzinger won the 4th place in his first race of the season.

During the night it rained heavily and so the track turned into an extremely demanding circuit for the second race on sunday. Soon after the start a leading group consisting of Manfred Zöger, Robert Gehbauer, Felix Ritzinger and Philipp Heigl formed. The lead changed several times and the race remained extremely exciting until the very end. Philipp Heigl won the race, but Felix Ritzinger and Manfred Zöger were very close behind, Robert Gehbauer got the 4th place. Chase’s technical director Felix Schneider also took part in the race and occupied the remarkable 21st place in the national starting field.

At the last austrian race in the calendar year 2018, the two Chase-teammembers Felix Ritzinger and Manfred Zöger ensured a double victory with the Chase mud bikes.

Manfred took over the command right after the start and led the field of riders in the long climb. Behind him, Felix came quickly to the front and at the end of the first lap the two were already ranked 1st and 2nd. This constellation remained throughout the whole race. Felix drove consistent lap times, Manfred was always just a few seconds behind on 2nd place. The rest of the drivers followed within a considerable distance. Therefore, it was a very successful end of the year with two podium places!

In this beautiful autumn day the conditions were perfect. Head off to a cross-race in Langenzersdorf just next to Vienna: the athletes of Team Chase all showed a very good performance at the ‘King & Queen of Seeschlacht’. Our Chase Mud-rims – available as disk version and as rim-brake version – were perfect to fight in those tough race conditions.

The specific cross-country rims give comfort in the long straight but turbulent passages and at the same time enable the cyclist to pass trough the sharp curves fast. Our athlete Manfred Zöger reached with an excellent performance the second place in the overall standing in the 60′ elite-race behind a cyclist from Hungary. Second cross-race and second position on the podium. After his disease, Felix Ritzinger showed also that he is a powerful cyclist. He showed a good performance and for the next races you can definitely count on a position on the winner’s rostrum. Felix Schneider was one of the strongest bikers in the 40′ race. After catching up from a rear starting position he reached the leading group. He finished with a good performance and finally reached the third row in the overall standings.

A great day for Team Chase.

The electrity plant Donaustadt in Vienna is usually only known as orientation point on the way to Lobau if cycling on the danube island in Vienna. On Sunday, for the first time it was the location and beautiful scenery for a cyclo-cross race. About 100 starters did prefer cycling and competed in three different races instead of celebrating the last Sunday before christmas quiet at home. In the main competition lasting 60 minutes, there were even two Chase athletes participating.

The track was mostly flat but due to a lot of holes demanding for body and material. In combination with the partially heavy wind, it was a very strategic race. After the first half, you could watch the first really severe attacks. It ended very positively for Felix and with a third row for Manfred, only some seconds after him.

Having the Austrian cross-country championship in mind that will take place in January in St.Pölten, both athletes can be really proud of their performance so far and there is still time to work on the last fine tunings concerning their skills.

About 250 cyclists from nine different nations faced the challenge in the Bike Night Flachau. Due to a lot of rain and bad wheather conditions prior to the 7th edition of this event on 12th of August, a slippery track could be expected. To attain a fair and above all a secure competition the jury decided to shorten the course. The very heart of the track, the downhill through the Hermann-Maier-Weltcup-course, was only cycled in the first round. As a consequence, the race was even a closer competition between the first three bikers.

Felix Ritzinger wins the spectacle under floodlights in the ski resort Flachau! Partly, with times below 7 minutes per round and 300 starters on the track, dodging the other cyclists that he had overtaken and avoid collisions was the bigger challenge than the slippery and wet meadow. The leading position changed in nearly every round, but in the end after all 18 rounds Felix succeeded in the final sprint in the night and won with 2 hours and 8 minutes – after the disappointing results in previous competitions this was a very important victory for him!
